Zooper hook-on chair review

Have you ever seen these space saving high chairs? Zooper makes this amazing hook-on chair. Isn’t it awesome!

My niece Kinsley loves it! My sister likes that it takes up less space than the big ole traditional high chairs.

Amazon has them for $49.00 and free shipping! They also come in 4 different colors so there is a color for every one! I imagine this won’t work for every type of table. I’m sure some tables have a skirt that makes it difficult to attach the chair to.

I think it seems very sturdy, she has had no complaints about it. I would have loved to use it for myself but my dining table isn’t very heavy or sturdy. I was worried that it would tip over. Her dining set is perfect for this type of chair. Strong, solid oak.

Do you have one of these space-saving chairs? What do you think of it?

{Giveaway Alert} Seventh Generation now has Free & Clear diapering products!

Welcome the newest arrival of products from Seventh Generation that are gentle on baby, safe for the planet, and convenient for you, not to mention “Lorax approved!”

I had heard of Seventh Generation products before, but mostly a safe/chemical free cleaning line. I was excited to hear they also have diapering products! We use cloth diapers for many reasons, our wallet, the environment and our baby. My problem with most diapers out there is the chemical processes they go through before they hit the shelves. That’s where Seventh Generation diapers differ.

Seventh Generation Free & Clear baby care products do not contain chlorine, fragrance, petroleum-based lotions or latex, and all Free & Clear products are also hypo-allergenic. We were sent the training  pants to try. I wondered if Cutler would wear them since they feel so differently from anything he’s ever worn before. He’s not a big fan of what we call “the paper diaper”.

Check out our video review:

Training Pants

  • Free & Clear training pants have an absorbent core made with more renewable, plant-based materials.  They also feature stretchy, tear away side panels for a better fit and added convenience, as well as inner leak barriers for superior leakage protection
  •  NEW Overnight Diapers are absorbent enough to keep your baby and bedding dry through the night or during prolonged travel
In partnership with Universal Studios’ motion picture debut of Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax*also known as the “Speaker for the Trees” who brings environmental truth and ecological hope to all, Seventh Generation will feature limited edition Lorax prints on all our diapers and training pants.  These prints are intended to remind parents and caregivers of the lessons of The Lorax, and encourage family reading and environmental awareness while creating a few smiles.  Discover (or rediscover) Dr. Suess’ The Lorax as you read about his legacy and messages of sustainability with your child, and inspire a new generation of environmentalists starting with your family!

You can win the same gift pack I received!

One package of new Seventh Generation Free & Clear diaper product
A copy of Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax storybook

Snug Around keeps kids warm in strollers too!

Months ago we were sent a Snug Around to try out. I used is on my Beco Butterfly a time or two before it warmed up. Cutler didn’t much like having his legs all wrapped up so it didn’t last long, but it wasn’t that cold out either. Since then I haven’t done much babywearing. He would rather be down and running around, which drives me crazy most days. However, he still loves being in his stroller! Lou will often take them on a walk down to the school playground while I get to stay home and work on the computer. I had placed the Snug Around in the bottom of the stroller for just such occasions. I guess I forgot to put it in it’s nice carrying bag, which is where the dirt came from. My bad.

On the way there, pulled down for arms out.
Asleep and pulled up to stay warm.

So it was kinda chilly that day, so Lou tied the Snug Around to the stroller and Cutler was warm and happy as the wind whipped away! He didn’t mind his feet being wrapped up this time because he was warm and cozy! I LOVE the Snug Around! It’s so versatile! It can be used for a stroller blanket like we used it here, as a cover when wearing your baby in a carrier, and as a nursing cover! I love the front pocket too, just in case carrying a diaper bag or purse isn’t what you felt like doing, you can put your phone, ID and some cash in there. So smart!

This is an absolute great product great for gifts to new parents. You can buy it now on Amazon for $44.99. Not sure it’s worth the cost? Just read the raving reviews from happy Amazon buyers. Nothing but 5 stars!

Disclosure: I was provided the Snug Around for review. I was not asked to give positive feedback, only honest feedback. All opinions are my own.

Do you need a cover for your baby carrier or stroller?

Then look no further! The Snug Around is just the ticket! It’s a hands free cover for baby carriers, strollers and can even be used as a nursing cover! It retails for $44.99 and you can purchase it from Amazon.com.

If I had kept Cutler on my front side I would have opted to use the strap instead of the ties. It would have rested higher cover up to his neck keeping him out of the cold. When he’s on my back he demands that his arms are out, but that means that the Snug Around isn’t snug around his neck keeping him safe from the elements. If you want to use it properly to keep your little one snug, tie it higher on the straps so it sits where it should. To see it done properly check out the Snug Around video for a back carry. In my video you can see how low it is, he’s not reaping the full benefits of the snug around by me tying in onto the carrier so low. In her video you can see how much better it is when tied up higher. I’m not sure he would have tolerated it up in the proper position because then he wouldn’t have been able to get his arms out. Just wanted to you learn from my mistakes though.

This product is created by a mom who saw a need and filled it. Her name is Guru Amrit and she’s the creator of the trademarked Snug Around and the CEO of Anaya Papaya. She’s a remarkable woman that saw her dream to fruition. I wish we could all say the same. To read more of her story click here.

If you want to stay up on the latest and greatest things from Anaya Papaya like them on Facebook. Thank you Guru for such an amazing product! I’m thrilled to be allowed to test it out! I really like the windbreaker type fabric. The pocket and zippered pocket make it that much better! I’ll work on creating a new video that shows me using it properly (bad mama) and post it on here and on YouTube shortly. Stay tuned!!!

Infantino Cloud Shopping Cart Cover Review

Just hatched out of the brains of Infantino is the Cloud Shopping Cart Cover! Isn’t it cute!!!

My thoughts: Very Plush, one size fits all with it’s snug elastic, safety harness is a plus, and it has 4 tabs along the front to hang toys off of if you have those links. It even has a zippered clear case to store it in. Another plus in my book.

My concerns: None! It serves it’s purpose perfectly!

It retails for $29.99. I think it’s comparable to others out there but this one looks so much more comfortable! Want to see it up close and personal? Watch my short video:

{Giveaway Alert!} Infantino Savvy Bag Diaper Changing Clutch

I got to try out the Infantino Savvy Bag Diaper Changing Clutch. I have to tell you how much I like this! Most small containers that hold diapers and wipes don’t hold anything else. Like diaper rash creme, my car keys, debit card, maybe a lip gloss (or two). You know…the essentials.

Also, I use cloth diapers, which doesn’t fit in most things created for diapers. This clutch is just the right size. I can easily fit 2 cloth diapers, wipes, a small spray bottle, my keys, debit card and lip gloss.

My concerns: I like the idea of an attached changing pad as a flap, but when I flip it open sometimes it comes even more and begins to unfold. I wish it had something that would keep it folded down.

I like the idea of a clutch, but for me personally, I prefer a long strap so I can wear it across my body like a messenger bag. This strap isn’t long enough since it’s made to serve as a clutch. I would prefer a strap that gets much longer.

Want to see it in action? Watch this short video.

Overall I really like this bag. It’s super stylish and serves a purpose. The changing pad is very nice and plush. Perfect for those changes when you have no where to lay your kiddo. It retails for $22.99 which is a good price in my book.

Want to win it?
Just leave me a comment telling me why and where you think you’d use it.

Easy to use labels for you & your children’s property.

Applied Labels makes personalized labels, with and without cute little icons, that are safe to use in the dishwasher and washing machine! How cool is that?

We’ve been using ours for a few weeks now and I’m very impressed. I ordered mine with a skull for my boys, that’s what they wanted. Also, since all three of my boys have a first name that starts with the letter “C”, I ordered the labels with C. followed by our last name. I thought that way I can use the labels for items for all 3 children.
So far I’ve labeled sippy cups, water bottles, snack cups, jackets and shoes. I would like to label Camden’s school supplies too that way I know at the end of the year I’ll get our stuff back. Maybe next year huh?
For the clothing labels you have to put the Applied Label on the front of a tag and sandwich the tag between the label on the front and a blank backer label on the back. It is not meant to be placed directly on the garment itself. I’ve washed Cutler’s jacket a few times and it holds up great! We have so many jackets in the daycare where I work that I feel confident that no one will grab his jacket by mistake. Same goes with the huge array of sippy cups in the daycare. I can easily spot which one is his. LOVE that!
Backers, Shoe Shields & Applied Labels

Cohen and his cousin Karcher have the same Iron Man tennis shoes, and the other night it was a big deal trying to figure out which shoes belonged to who. Now we know since I’ve used the applied labels in his shoes. All you do is place the label directly inside the shoe and press down firmly. Then you apply a clear Shoe Shield over it and that’s it! You’d think it would come off easily but you’d be wrong. It’s on there good!

All the tags can be removed quite easily, which is a benefit that outweighs many other labels out there. That way if you need to sell and item or pass them down to the next kid, you can change out the tag if you need to. Want to stay in the loop with all things Applied Labels? They are always coming up with new products. Just check out the baby tapes. I could see myself using these on my water bottles! Household labels coming soon! Follow them on Twitter, Like them on Facebook, and check out my YouTube Video!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. Mommy Party: Episencial Skin Care for babies & children

I hosted my Episencial party Friday night at 5:30. I created an event on Facebook and invited many. I had some ladies RSVP including my sister. I was hopeful that we would have a great turnout. Sad to say that other than my sister, no one showed up. I had the table all ready to go stocked with goodie bags of product and samples:

10 goodie bags filled with samples and a full sized product.

I had 10 bags with samples of their product line, including one full sized bottle of Playful Foaming Wash for each attendee.

Since I was hosting the party at the YMCA daycare I knew it would be toddler friendly for those mom’s that had small ones with them. Since the products are all illustrated with images from Eric Carle I stopped by my library and checked out all the Eric Carle books they had so we could do a story time.

Eric Carle books for story time
My boys loved reading the books!
My thoughts:

1. Playful Foaming Wash – VERY nice. Quite mild. I liked that it lathered up with ease. A little goes a long way. I used it as a hair and body wash and Cutler cried when it got in his eyes. It doesn’t claim to be tear free so I’m guessing that it burned, but then again he cries every time he gets water in his eyes.

2. Sweet Dreams Bubble Bath – I used what seemed like quite a bit, not any more than I would use with any other bubble bath product, and it didn’t do the trick. I had bubbles at just the one end of the tub and they didn’t last long at all. I was hoping for a more bubbly experience.

3.  Better Body Butter – I expected it to be thick with a name like Body Butter. It’s not. It’s a good lotion, just not anything spectacular. It also smells a bit like elmer’s glue. It doesn’t have a scent of it’s own, just a basic lotion unscented-type scent.

4. Soothing Cream for eczema, itches & bothered skin – Cutler has patches of eczema on the back of his thighs and behind his knees. I applied the cream to the back of his knee and he cried out. We’ve used other lotions with no crying, so I’m unsure if it was the product causing him discomfort or if he just didn’t want to sit still while I applied it. Hard to tell. I really like the idea of a baby safe cream for eczema though.

5.  Sunny Sunscreen -  The cream is white and rubs in easily. Not too thick. This one smell just like the lotion did. It doesn’t have a scent. Reminiscent of Elmer’s Glue again.

6. Nurturing Balm – for diaper rash and sensitive areas -This is your basic zinc oxide white cream. I didn’t try it because I use cloth diapers and it’s not safe for cloth diapers because it doesn’t wash out well.

7. Protective Face Balm for chapped skin & lips SPF 6- I expected this to be similar to a stick or balm. Something like a chapstick sort of thing. It’s a squeeze tube and the balm comes out white. I used a bit on my lips because it said it could be used for chapped lips and I like it! It’s very silky smooth and feels great. It leaves no color and stays on well. This would be great to buy for chapped faces that get wind burnt, and for children that tend to lick their lips too much and end up with the clown face look. Stays on much longer than chapstick and feels great! I would prefer it in a stick though, it would go on easier on a baby/toddler that doesn’t want to sit still.

You wanna know what’s so cool about these products? They are SOOO green! They don’t test on animals, they use recycled bottles, they are created using sustainable solar power and they are made with Certified Organic Ingredients! If being green is important to you and your family, this is a product line you need to get familiar with.

Would I buy it?
Yes. I would. I would buy the Soothing Cream and the Protective Face Balm. The other items I would probably buy locally of another brand. However, if you are dedicated to reducing your carbon footprint and being as green as possible, then you should order the whole line.
So even though my party was a bust I have still given out my goodie bags. As the moms came into the daycare this week to workout I sent them home with their goodie bag. I still have a few left, but I know I will see them soon. A BIG shout out for Mommy Parties for allowing me this great opportunity! I only wish it would have been what I had hoped it would be. My next one will be rockin’ I’m sure of it!

Inspired by Finn – Baltic Amber

Inspired by Finn creates the most beautiful Baltic Amber jewelry. I’ve heard so much on twitter about Teething Necklaces and I had to learn more. At first I thought they were necklaces for baby to chew on to help with teething. I was quickly corrected when I inquired on twitter. It’s a necklace made from Baltic Amber that aids with their teething pain. It sounds a bit far fetched, I thought. I’m open to anything that might work though, and I fully feel that homeopathic treatments are completely undervalued. How does it work? Here is some info from their website:

Baltic amber is not a stone, but a fossilized tree resin.
Historically, Baltic Amber has been used in Europe as a natural and traditional remedy and curative for many ailments for centuries. Long ago it was considered one of the leading ‘medicines’ of its time. Baltic Amber is the most esteemed amber in the world, and the healing qualities of Baltic Amber make it unlike any other type of amber found in the world.

When baltic amber is worn on the skin, the skin’s warmth releases trace amounts of healing oils from the amber. These oils contain succinic acid and are absorbed into the skin.
Baltic Amber has some of the highest concentrations of Succinic Acid found in nature, and this is what makes it so special. Succinic Acid is a natural component of plant and animal tissues, and it’s presence in the human body is beneficial in many ways.

WOW! As I read that I immediately wanted to order him one. Then my mind wandered. If it helps with teething, what else could it help with? You can buy necklaces that will help with teething, headaches, migraines; bracelets that help with carpal tunnel, ankle bracelets to help with leg/foot/ankle pain. So much more! How about a larger one to go around your waist to help with back pain? Or one that goes above the knee for knee pain? This would be perfect for my mom because she just had knee replacement surgery. I’ve also began experiencing some numbness in my right hand that could be the beginning of carpal tunnel. I’m thinking I need to order me a bracelet pronto! They have many styles and colors to choose from, so something for everyone.

Cutler has had his necklace on non stop for over a week now. I leave it on my 24/7. It doesn’t bother him a bit. I have found that he’s putting his fingers in his mouth less, drooling less and biting less. As a breastfeeding mother, I’m very happy about the less biting part! Just look at those sharp little chompers! OUCH!

I’m very pleased with my purchase. I did buy this myself. I was not provided the necklace, paid or bartered with in any way for this post. I’m genuinely happy with my purchase and wanted to share the site and info with all you mom’s that may need a safe natural remedy for teething. I may buy a few as gifts for baby showers too! Love that option. It’s super cute and functional!

I just have to share one more pic!

I think he’s dreamy and he makes my heart melt.
