Kids of all ages can embark on a Dr. Seuss-inspired journey during a special event

Come take a walk through the colorful, captivating world of Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax at select Simon malls throughout the country this weekend on Saturday, August 4, 2012.

• Create and take home intriguing Truffula Trees, just like those featured in the movie, and a Lorax mustache to commemorate the charming creature.
• Interact with vibrant costumed characters from The Lorax during an entertaining meet-and-greet session
• Visit a viewing area to watch The Lorax movie trailer, learn how to draw the Lorax through a bonus feature on the Blu-ray™/DVD, and hear about how the Lorax speaks for the trees.
• Pose for a fascinating photo next to Lorax-themed standees, capturing the fun of the unique event

Discover Your Inner Sparkle with the TWINKLE TOES: THE MOVIE  on DVD launch parties this weekend! 

In celebration of TWINKLE TOES: THE MOVIE on DVD, select malls across the country will host this special event on Saturday, August 4th from 12-4pm where kids of all ages will have the opportunity to participate in several fun activities and receive free promotional items. In addition to a coloring sheet area, attendees can bedazzle a pink tote bag, get a temporary Twinkle Toes tattoo and even participate in a dance lesson from a local dance troupe on-site. The kids and I saw The Lorax in the theater and loved it! I can’t wait to get it on DVD!!!

On March 1st the kids and I got a dog. Since then we have been obsessing over heartfelt puppy movies. This movie, Smitty, was incredible!

SMITTY is a family film about a rescue dog. When life gets tough for Ben, a friendly paw is all it takes to pull him through. Mischievous thirteen-year-old Ben is sent to his grandfather’s farm for the summer, where he crosses paths with a lovable mutt. With help from the unlikely canine companion, Ben learns the importance of friendship, family and responsibility.

Just look at this list of amazing actors: Peter Fonda, Mira Sorvino, Louis Gossett Jr., Brandon Tyler Russell, Jason London and Booboo Stewart.

Inspired by a true story, The Fat Boy Chronicles reveals the emotionally painful world obese teens experience in the face of a thin-obsessed society.

At age fourteen. 5’5 Jimmy weighs 187 pounds. Outside the comfort of his family and church, life for Jimmy is a constant struggle. The cruel taunts of his classmates make going to school or playing sports a humiliating experience. Yet, he still manages to focus on his goals — to lose weight and win over the girl of his dreams.

Breaks my heart. My boys hear me harp on them constantly that it’s not okay to bully, but do they really know what that means? I try and explain to them about name-calling, teasing, whispers, stares, etc. That all of that can be incredibly damaging to a child’s self-esteem.

The movie was a bit slow, but it’s not an action flick. I will sit down with my kids and have them watch it soon. It’s incredibly powerful to see someone else’s pain. To imagine being in their shoes. I will try my hardest to make sure that my children don’t become bully’s or victims. We all know it’s out there and it’s a threat that they will have to deal with forever, but some insight would go a long way into making sure that they remain kind and compassionate.
