What are some of your family favorites? What am I missing from my list?

The Link costumes have arrived!

Remember my post a few weeks ago about Link Costumes that the boys wanted for Halloween? Well, check this out:

I found this costume on eBay and knew I needed her to make some up for the boys! Her name is Sandra and she has been amazing to work with. You sometimes hear that people are hesitant to buy off eBay but not me. I’ve had wonderful experiences and she is another one to claim!
You can find the listing here if you have a little one interested in being Link. She’s wrapping up Halloween costumes but is considering continuing to make them for Renaisance Fair type events. If you want to see her for sale items you can find her by searching by seller for madsam40. Tell her you saw her on HomemadeMom! I’m sure she’ll be happy to hear it!
Camden couldn’t be happier!

Cutler was being shy for the camera.
Cohen was thrilled!
She took measurement and made each one accordingly. She went over and above in my opinion. She sent boot covers, gauntlets, swords, belts, belt pouches, and a sash thing that holds the sword on their back. All I had to add was long johns to go underneath! They really are great quality costumes!
Her communication is great too, another feature that may be hard to come by with some eBay sellers, but with 100% positive feedback you can rest assured that you will have no troubles with her.
So thanks Sandra for creating such amazing costumes for my boys at a price I can afford! I’m eternally grateful!

Where can I find a Link Costume? Lord knows I can’t sew!

This is what my boys want to be for Halloween. Where am I gonna find this? Believe me, I’ve scoured the web. Most of the costumes I find on costume sites are for adults and that won’t work. When I google it I find it on eBay, custom made for each child so they fit properly. Even then, it’s still not cheap because I’m still going to have to buy the white undergarments, sword, shield, belt and cross belt thingy. Not to mention boots and gloves!

Camden is adamant that this is what he wants to be. He’s all hung up on Link ever since we put an old Nintendo 64 in his bedroom. He’s been cracking away in there for weeks working on defeating Zelda. Lou says that game got him through college. I’m thinking he spent more time working on the game then he did in class!

So help me out y’all! I can’t sew a lick, I don’t even own a sewing machine. It didn’t matter if I did though, I wouldn’t know how to use it. Also, there is no fabric store nearby! We’re talking, traveling out of town with 3 boys in tow to look for some green felt-type fabric for a costume I can’t even create! No ma’am! So tips and tricks are needed. I could probably order supplies online, but then what? All the tutorials are for sewing machines with pins and stuff. WAY out of my league.
Help a momma out!

Halloween is upon us…

My boys are always in costume. Lately though it seems as if Camden has outgrown everything we have! Most our costumes are resale shop finds and a heck of a steal. Just look at Camden in this one. The costume sleeves are WAY too short. Too bad, I really  liked him as Green Lantern.
Cohen and Cutler are getting in on the action too.
We have a large trunk in our living room FULL of costumes! I cleaned it out the other day and donated 2 trash bags of items they no longer wear or outgrew.
What is this? Some Superman/Batman combo?
Camden was making sure it was just right.
How about a similar mask/cape combo? I think this one is a bit too big!
Cohen changed costumes twice and Camden tried on at least 3 different things! They crack me up!
I can’t wait for Halloween! It’s just around the corner and the boys are still very unsure of what they want to be, except for Camden that is. He wants to be Link from Zelda. Anyone know where I can find a costume like that?
Last year we were so graciously given costumes by Halloween Express, Star Costumes, and Costumes4Less.com. Karcher scored a Captain America costume with shield, Cohen got a great Robin Costume (too bad no one wanted to be Batman!), then halfway through the night he wanted to wear a Muscle Man costume, so we had a wardrobe change mid-evening. Camden received a great Army Man costume from Halloween Express. He still wears it every few weeks!
I can’t wait to see what this year brings! If I had it my way I’d dress them all in a theme, but they all have such different personalities that I will give in and let them enjoy the holiday! What do your kids want to be?

Decorating for Halloween

I don’t do much, really. I’d like to do more, but I work with what I have. The boys were just dying for me to do the bushes out front with spider webs, so here it is:

Nothing too special, but for less than $5.00 it’s enough to spook up the house a bit. I think I’m gonna buy a colored light bulb for the front porch too. What do you think, orange or black? I also have homemade ghosts and bats to hang up, but I’m pretty sure I won’t get around to it this year. They’re buried in the basement somewhere and I don’t really feel like digging in the dark for them. I suck, I know. I should have been more on top of it this year!

I can’t believe it’s the 16th of October already. Time is flying by. Today Cutler is 16 months old! WOW! Seems like yesterday I was posting pics of my belly!

Now look at him
So big! I’m truly blessed. I love my boys. I love my life. I love Halloween!

"They will think I work out."

That’s what Cohen said when he put on his muscle man shirt from StarCostumes.com. He was so happy when it arrived! Just watch and see.

They have a HUGE selection of Halloween Costumes in a variety of price ranges. There is something for everyone, especially for all you mom’s out there shopping for kids costumes. It seemed like they have almost everything marked down too! Gotta love that! Mom’s have to save money, and costumes are no exception!

You know what I liked most about buying online? No hassles, no meltdowns, no tears.

Let me explain.

When we shop in town at the Halloween Store it never fails that the boys select a costume that is either out of my budget, doesn’t come in their size, or is out of stock. Then they have to “settle” for something they don’t really want.

When shopping online I can narrow down the choices for them before they even set down at the computer. I can fine tune my price range and select the boy costume category. That way they are only looking at costumes I know will work for us! They get what they want, I don’t break the bank. Everyone’s happy!

So instead of leaving a store with boys in a bad mood, I get boys in a great mood when the mail man arrives! What could be better?

Captain America loves Halloween Express!

HalloweenExpress.com was so kind when I reached out to them and allowed me to select costumes for my boys AND allowed me to give away $75.00 in costumes! Just watch and see how happy my nephew and son were when their costumes arrived! Karcher decided on being Captain America and Camden selected a soldier costume. They couldn’t be happier!

So what are you’re little ones going to be for Halloween? Did you order online?

Star Costumes Review

Star Costumes has graciously allowed me to select a costume for one of my kiddos. Cutler has so many costumes to choose from that the boys have outgrown, that I allowed Cohen to select one. Of all the options available he selected the Muscle Man Shirt.

I find that so funny! He’s gonna look so cute in this! Once he gets it I’ll be sure to post some hilarious video of him acting all “tough” in it. It should be a riot!

What are your little ones going to dress up as for Halloween?
