You can now feed your kids MORE Whole Grains with General Mills Cereals!

My Blog Spark allowed me to share with you a great new ingredient you’ll find on a TON of their cereals! WHOLE GRAIN!!! Right now you’ll find the Whole Grain as the TOP ingredient! Meaning that there is more Whole Grain than any other ingredient in each box! Here is a sample selection:

To help make it easier to find whole grain products, General Mills developed “Fast Lane for Whole Grain,” an online educational game. Consumers can navigate virtual grocery store aisles and identify products that have whole grain as the first ingredient, with the option to enter a sweepstakes to win one of each of the 50 cereals with the white check.

In connection with healthier lifestyles, a diet rich in whole grain has been linked to healthier body weights, and it may help reduce the risk of heart disease and certain cancers.

Make a commitment to incorporate more whole grain into your family´s diets by starting their day with a bowl of cereal with the white check, including Cheerios®, Lucky Charms®, Cinnamon Toast Crunch®, Honey Nut Cheerios® and Total®. For more information on the importance of whole grain and a chance to enter the “Fast Lane for Whole Grain” sweepstakes visit www.WholeGrainNation.com.

I LOVE Honey Nut Cheerios, I’ve also been trying to lose weight and this cereal helps me to “stay legal”.

Shopping at Lowe’s for cleaning supplies was a HUGE disappointment!

I received a stack of Lowe’s coupons to participate in the new Lowe’s Try and Tell courtesy of Vocalpoint. The purpose of the Try and Tell was to create awareness of the large quantity and variety of cleaning products available at Lowe’s, so I had to check it out!
They have Method products which I thought were only carried at Target. Turns out I’m wrong. I love that I can get them locally, Target is an hour away for me. Anyhoo, I shopped with my coupons only to be disappointed by the prices. For instance. Lysol Disinfectant Spray is $4.62 at Walmart. It was $5.98 at Lowe’s! Even using my $1.00 off coupon I’d still be paying $0.36 more… on sale! Is it just me or is that crazy?!?
Whatever, I wanted to get something, right? So I snagged some stuff and headed to the register. When the cashier was ringing up my coupons she said:
Her: ”Um, these have expired”
Me: ”No. They say they expire April 30th.”
Her: “Well, my computer says they expired in January. Ugh, *insert exasperated sigh here* I don’t know why it isn’t working?” She tries again and again.
Meanwhile my older boys are bored and whining so my husband takes them outside. Now it’s just me and a very fussy 20 month old. He’s crying and flailing about, arching his back and throwing back his head. He just wants to go! After a few more minutes of her unsuccessfully trying to use my coupons I say:
Me: ”You know what? Nevermind. I’ll leave them all here and hope you get your coupon thing figured out.”
Is that terrible? My husband was telling me I should have waited for the manager. I was pissed! If they are mass marketing to create awareness and are shelling out tons of coupons, they could at least get them entered right into the computer! I can say without a doubt that I will not seek to purchase overpriced cleaning products from Lowe’s again.

CVS

Tonight was my second trip to CVS to try and get stuff for FREE!!! I would say it was a huge success!
First I bought:
1 Crest Pro-Health Night Toothpaste that was on sale for $2.99, already $0.90 off
1 Crest Pro-Health Night Mouthwash on sale for $2.99, already $1.00 off
Then I had 2 coupons for $0.75 off for the toothpaste and mouthwash and I used 1 ECB coupon for $3.00 from my first visit to CVS.
My total OOP (out of pocket) was $1.51

I just now realized that I didn’t get any ECB’s on this transaction and I should have got $4.00 back. (this has happened with the last transaction I’ve tried, I don’t get the ECB’s I’m supposed to so I ended up going back to the store to return the item.) I did receive a CVS coupon for $1.00 off Colgate Total or Max Fresh Toothpaste.
Next I bought a 2 pack of Oral-B Pulsar toothbrushes for $10.99 and I used 2 CVS coupons: $4.00 ECB and $5.99 ECB. My total OOP for this was $1.08 (The toothbrushes earned $2.00 ECB’s which I did receive)
Lastly I wanted some makeup brushes and I had just enough to buy them. The brushes were $4.99 and $5.49 and I used 3 CVS coupons: $1.99, $2.00 (from the toothbrushes), and $5.99. My OOP was $0.54)

I was trying to hurry up and check out because there were people standing behind me. Next time I will try to go in with a list of what I plan to purchase and the ECB’s I’m supposed to earn, that way I won’t leave again without getting what I deserve!
