Archive for Camden
Today my oldest turns 9! He’s wearing the Zelda shirt I made him, the triforce necklace from Etsy ad the Master Sword from eBay. He couldn’t be happier!!! Happy birthday Camden!
Sumo Wrestling the easy way.
I saw this idea on a blog the other day and thought it was genius! I wish I could remember which one so I could link to it because her pictures were so much better than mine. But here goes. Have your kids put on a Large T-Shirt and then stuff 2 queen size pillows into the front and back of the shirt.
Let the sumo wrestling begin! Camden was feeling all tough.
Cohen absolutely loved it! I was worried they would bonk heads, but they didn’t.
Cohen couldn’t stop laughing. It was so cute!
The giggling was insane! I would have sworn I had a house full of kids instead of just 3.
For whatever reason Cutler wanted to like it, but he just didn’t.
His brothers bumped him a few times and the major meltdown ensued.
Poor baby. He was just too small I think.
Very happy tough guys. I don’t think they could get over the fact that I was letting them wrestle in the house!

Camden’s 8th Birthday Party!
So I’m a little late at getting this post up. His birthday was on the 31st of July and I’ve just plain been slackin’. You know how it is, right? I’m up to my neck in housework and breaking up fights!
Just broke up another fight. This time because they were breathing on each other! BREATHING y’all! I’m so sick of this! Anyhoo, back to the party…
He had so much fun! His cake was Link from Zelda made by my friend Kari, she makes the most amazing cakes! I swear she should be the next Cake Boss! It began as a pool party at my mom’s house, which just so happens to be next door. (You’re jealous aren’t ya?) Then we came over to my house for cake and gifts. Camden invited 6 friends and 5 came. That’s pretty good! He made out like a bandit getting exactly what he wanted! His friend Tyler even hand made him a Captain America card (featured on the bottom right in the collage photo), how thoughtful was that? Sweet boys.
Which makes them the perfect companion to any party!
Cohen and Camden had fun writing on their cups.
If you look close Camden is writing a naughty word, I’m not showing the finished product, but suffice it to say he knew which cup was his!
Thanks to Solo for sending me some fun swag and to all of Camden’s friends that came and partied with us!
He has BLING ladies and gentlemen!
Camden has been all about jewelry for years now, necklaces mostly, but he will sport a ring or bracelet any day. He has been asking me for an earring for a while now and honestly I said yes because I thought there was no way he’d actually go through with it!
He was sooo proud of himself! And rightly so! He was warned of the pain and went through with it. I am so proud of him! He looks good with an earring too, he’s been diligent about taking care of it twice a day too. Cleaning it all by himself. I still can’t believe he did it. Just more proof that my baby is growing up.
(All photos taken with my Blackberry Storm. It takes pretty good pictures for a phone doesn’t it? I was pretty impressed. Thanks Dad & Lisa!)
The tooth fairy is apparently recession proof!
Last night Camden lost his 6th tooth! That means that mom is broke again, *ahem*, I mean the tooth fairy must be rolling in the dough!
Let me explain. When Camden lost his first tooth Lou and I discussed what was an appropriate fee for a tooth. I stated that I had always received $1.00 per tooth growing up. I thought it still seemed fair. He, however, was so excited for Camden and caught up in the thrill of it all that he wanted to leave him more. I wasn’t really sure it was a good idea, but hey, it was his first tooth! I left it up to Lou and went to bed.
Next tooth, a week or so later…another $5.00! This kid is gonna cost me a fortune! Skip ahead a few teeth and one really bad attitude and Camden awoke to only $4.00. He was confused to say the least. I told him that since the tooth fairy must be able to see you at all the time in order to know when a tooth is lost, that she must have noticed his really bad behavior lately and docked him a buck. I didn’t know what else to say! I didn’t expect him to lose it that night and I honestly didn’t have enough cash in the house! Terrible isn’t it?
So that brings us to last night. Another tooth and another $5.00 under the pillow. I happened to find six bucks in my pants yesterday and was thinking of that blizzard of the month flavor I was gonna eat…not anymore. This sucks. I blame Lou and the fact that the recession clearly hasn’t affected the tooth fairy’s bank roll. How long will I keep this up? Who knows. I wish I could go back in time and swap out that first five dollar bill for a one. Cohen is just old enough too that I’m sure he will vividly remember these five dollar bills for when he loses his first tooth.
Is that what I get for leaving it up to dad?
What do you leave up to your husband that is now giving you second thoughts?
2nd grade begins!
I can’t believe my baby is now 7 years old and in 2nd Grade!!! How is it that time is going by so fast? It seems like just yesterday he was born and we were bringing him home from the hospital. I love his inquisitive mind and his sweet nature. He is always wanting to learn about science stuff.
He has a large collection of test tubes and whenever he gets a chance he’s in the kitchen using up all of my food coloring for a new “potion”.
It seems that his love for science has melded with his love for Harry Potter and all things wizardry. What would I do without him?
It’s not a fashion show
Camden has always been a clothes connoisseur. Ever since he was very small he’s always gravitated towards clothes over toys. He never met a three piece suit he didn’t like. He used to dress up and carry around a briefcase. He reminded me of a tiny Alex P. Keaton.
He reminds me of a preteen girl. Everything has to be just so or he won’t leave the house. Even now, his shirt with a black collar, goes with a specific pair of black shorts and must be accompanied with his black socks. If the black socks are in the wash? Well then, the whole outfit must be changed. Ugh! It wears me out! Just to go down to the mailbox, he has to “get dressed”. It cracks me up. It’s annoying as all get out, but endearing all the same. I know he wants to look good, and who can be mad at him for that?
Here’s the kicker. It’s beginning to make us late for things. Every morning it’s a huge ordeal to get dressed. Even if I have him pick out an “outfit” the night before, he won’t like it by morning. He’s very particular about his clothes. I find myself saying “It’s not a fashion show”, at least once a day.
That brings us to today. My mom was going to be here in minutes to pick him and Cohen up to go to the pool. Here’s what he had on.
One proud mama here.
